When you're carrying the weight of the world (and others) on your shoulders, it's very hard to move forward. One of the heaviest and most debilitating energies around is burden energy. The secret to lightening the load is looking at the other side of the coin, finding the truth at the center, and deciding what chorus you want to reoccur.

Most of us are familiar with burden energy as something heavy, and maybe even shameful. We’ve most likely all experienced either feeling like a burden to someone else or feeling like someone was a burden to us.

Outdated obligation energy is at the center of the heavy experience of burden. When an agreement is no longer serving, it becomes the stuck energy of obligation held in place by the weighty perception of burden.

We forget that we can choose to come into present time and look at what is actually needed now. In exploring burden energy in my space, I actually found that the dictionary has a second, lesser known definition of burden which is “the main point, message, or idea.” and, in music, burden means “the refrain or recurring chorus of a song.”

So in a sense, when an agreement becomes outdated and starts to feel heavy, we have actually forgotten the main point of why we chose to commit to something in the first place. The chorus has become toxic as it plays on repeat.

For example, a parent who care takes for their child long after they are grown up enough to be capable of doing certain things on their own. The child becomes a burden, and resentment is formed between both parties. In this case, both the parent and child could bring lightness by realizing that the main point of their agreement has been fulfilled, and now it’s time to create a new agreement. A new chorus to play moving forward.

In other cases, it could be that the main point of the agreement is being avoided. A resistance to karma that needs to be completed for Soul growth and universal balance, often creates a burden lie in the brain to be projected onto others. For example, if someone owes someone else something like forgiveness, goodwill, or money, they may be perceiving it as unjust. Even though our legal systems try to protect us from this, the law and what is right don’t always match up. The chorus will continue to play in the conscience of the person until they follow through with the amending actions needed for balance.

Is there an agreement in your life that is ready to come into present time? What was the point of it to begin with, how might you honor that and either let go of or take responsibility to come to completion? What is the new chorus you’d like to play?

Wild Blessings,
