In my last post Value of Commitment, I talked about creative channels which are the channels that flow from source through your knowing, seeing, expression, heart and out your hands. When you create, you literally feel it because it’s all at your fingertips!
Do you remember how much fun playing with toys was as a kid… dressing up your dolls, rolling trucks around, play dough, coloring?
In other words, creativity runs freely, is shared through your hands, and has potential to be deeply fulfilling when inspiration, love, and your soul essence are running through.
As adults, creative projects may look more like writing, cooking, massage, or petting an animal, but really just look at how often your hands are at play in so many things… brushing your teeth, putting your socks on, washing dishes, typing emails. Possibilities to bring your flavor of inspired, love through your creative channels abound!
Sounds easy right? Well it can be as you give yourself permission to clean out any clogs, plug any leaks, and unlock any golden handcuffs. Clogs and leaks tend to be what we focus on because they are easier to see and feel, but golden handcuffs are a little more elusive elephants in the room. They are kinda like looking perfect looking on the outside but feeling horrible on the inside… having a great job, plenty of resources, people you love all around, yet a feeling of emptiness still exists. True fulfillment and abundance is bound in a comfort zone head in the sand sort of dynamic.
Golden handcuffs can also show up as punishment energy when you make a decision that you felt totally in alignment with then all of a sudden feel horrible, scared, and are in doubt questioning everything. It’s as if what was in full color turns black and white shrouded in a cloud of grey. When these signs of control, punishment, and gaslighting dynamics are at play, you may even turn on the people who are your biggest allies – including yourself.
My invitation to you today is no matter how bad you feel, choose to unlock those golden hand cuffs and play with your hands in an inspired way that maybe feels edgy…. dig in the dirt, melt chocolate in your hands, self massage, color and be wild with it… whatever might seem a little silly to you – give it a try letting the inspiration and love flow.
You might just find that, with intention, everything you touch can indeed turn to gold, and that is infinitely more fulfilling and abundant than golden handcuffs!
